During our September Professional Development Day the staff re-examined and discussed where we were in our Spiral of Inquiry that focuses on Social Emotional Learning. We explored our Quilchena Cares School Wide language and its' connection to Social Emotional Learning. We looked deeper at the following questions:

1) School Scans - Connect to the data and what are our students telling us?

2) What can we learn about self, others and place by sharing and listening to the stories of others?

3) How are we connecting to our Personal and Social Core Competencies and are we fostering Care for Self, Care for Others and Care for this Place?

These questions sparked our curiosity and excited us about the year ahead. We planned what our next steps were to deepening our students' understanding of our Quilchena Cares language and the connection to Social Emotional skills and strategies in the classroom this year.
