Staff have been focussing on building community and developing friendships in the classroom. They have been developing common language as a school, using our Care Circles framework - Care for ourselves, others and this place. Using mentor texts like The Circles All Around Us by Brad Montague opened many discussions in how students viewed themselves centered within their own circle but as we grow and build relationships, our circle keeps getting bigger and bigger to include family, friends, community and beyond. This book expands our worlds with kindness and inclusivity.
