The City of Richmond’s Emergency Management Office has recently launched a new Emergency Preparedness workshop series that is custom-made for each community within Richmond.
There are two upcoming workshops for the Thompson community and we would like to invite PAC members, and parents of the school to attend.
As most parents spend their days at work, often in a different municipality from their children, it is important to have family emergency plans in place in the event of an emergency - large or small.
These new workshops not only provide the common "Emergency Preparedness" information that many have heard before but also involve attendees working directly with facilitators to create personalized emergency plans -- every participant will go home with tools they can use for their families making them measurably more prepared.
At this time we looking to make PACs, and parents, aware of these new free workshops. The two workshops being offered in the Thompson area are taking place on the following dates:
Sat Nov 18th, from 1-5pm at Thompson Community Center (Games Room, City event code 2265192), and
Sun Nov 26th, from 12:30-4:30pm at Thompson Community Center (Banquet Hall, City event code 2265193)
Parents can register and get more information on the workshops by going to http://www.richmond.ca/rrcp/.
Note: We may also be considered in the "West Richmond" area, and those workshops are offered in Jan/Feb if you are unable to attend in the next couple of weeks. See attached file for more details.
